Our Farm
How We Got Here
I have always had a love for flowers. Taking them in 4-H, growing them at home, and helping in a flower shop, all kept me intriged. It can also be blamed on my grandfather who grew beautiful tea roses or my mother who always and still does have amazing perennial gardens. So, in 2003, starting from scratch in what used to be a corn field, we had to amend the soil very heavily. It was a lot of clay and was compact. In 2005, we added a greenhouse and in 2009 a small cottage was built that is now the retail/workshop. We started attending farmers markets in 2004, taking watermelons, pumpkins and some pre-made vased flowers. Each year we would take more flowers and eventionally the majority of our booth was flowers. The flowers are no longer pre-made into bouquets or vased, instead they are made to order and arranged on site. This way the customer has the bouquet they desire. And yes, it is fast paced!Â
Our booth has since expanded, and now offers bedding plants, produce, honey, eggs, goat milk soaps & lotions, and lip balms, all of which comes from the farm.
